Call for more foster carers to help desperate young children in Liverpool
15 December 2016
Liverpool people are being urged to open their hearts and their homes to young people in the city who are in desperate need of a loving, stable environment.A major new campaign is being launched in the city today to encourage big-hearted adults across the region to sign up as foster carers to children.
Hundreds of children and young people are currently waiting for a foster family in Liverpool and the city council is out to give them a brighter future by attracting many more foster carers than are currently on the books.
The campaign is being backed by the Liverpool Echo, as well as several high-profile ambassadors including Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher.
A rise in the numbers of looked-after children and young people and the retirement and natural turnover of foster carers has prompted the campaign.
It aims to help transform the lives of children in the city who are most in need.
