You'll recieve full training
We provide a pre-approval training course during the application process called ‘skills to foster’, to give you a real insight into the life of a foster carer, and a child in care before you take on the role. Once you are approved, there are many opportunities to learn and develop your skills across a wide range of topics, which are reflected and rewarded with our skills-based payment structure. Read more about our support and training here
Skills-based payments structure
As a foster carer with Liverpool, you’ll receive a skills-based professional fee, which increases as you gain experience and attend training to develop your skills. You’ll also receive an allowance per foster child to contribute towards day-to-day expenses.
Finding the right kind of fostering for you
During the application process, we learn about the type of fostering that would suit your skills, experience, and lifestyle, and this is taken into account to make sure the fostering placement works equally well for you and the children.

I would like to say a massive thank you for inviting us to the Christmas Party. Our children enjoyed themselves so much. My eldest moaned about having to go, but once there it was such an eye opener when she saw so many children and realised it’s not just her who is in foster care.
