Celebrating Our Remarkable Foster Carers at the Palm House

On the 3^rd June we were proud to host our second annual celebration event at the beautiful Sefton Park Palm House—dedicated to recognising the incredible contribution of local authority foster carers across the city.

Set within the stunning glasshouse surroundings, carers came together for a relaxed afternoon tea, offering a chance to reflect, connect, and most importantly, be recognised for the life-changing care they provide every single day.

A moment to say thank you

This annual event has been created as a simple but meaningful opportunity to say thank you to our fostering community. Each year, a small number of foster carers are nominated by their social workers for special recognition, allowing us to shine a spotlight on individual stories and experiences and to take the time to truly honour each carer’s journey and the unique impact they have had on the children and young people they support.

In future years, we look forward to recognising many more of our foster carers through this celebration.

Bringing stories to life

A key highlight of the afternoon was hearing the nominations read aloud to the carers. These powerful moments brought to life the real impact behind each nomination—stories of patience, perseverance, love and unwavering support.

From supporting children with complex medical needs, to providing long-term stability, to helping young people grow in confidence and independence, each story reflected compassion, resilience and commitment.

Celebrating dedication and impact

The nominations showcased a wide range of experiences—from carers who have supported children through trauma and transitions, to those who have provided lifelong connections through Staying Put arrangements, and others who have gone above and beyond to ensure children feel safe, secure and part of a family.

Across every story was a common thread: a deep commitment to putting children first and helping them to thrive.

A proud fostering community

Events like this remind us of the strength and dedication within our fostering community. Behind every fostering arrangement is a carer offering stability, understanding and care—often going far beyond expectation to give children the best possible start in life.

We are incredibly proud of every foster carer we work with and deeply grateful for the difference they make every day.
