Some lovely thoughts from Jean, the Mum of a foster carer, who remembers the first Christmas when their foster child came to visit.
When you become a foster carer, the assessment process and the role itself includes and involves your family and support network of friends.
As well as being a great support for you as foster carers, your family and friends will also be welcoming a child into their lives. They can be a great support with any challenges but they also get to enjoy the rewards too!
Mum of foster carer, Jean told us - "We’re so glad the little guy came into our family, he’s made a difference, he made us aware of so many other things and he’s enhanced our family a great deal.”
"We want him to be happy, to fulfill his potential, and we just want him to make the most of all the things that perhaps he lost in the past."
