Meet the Team
We understand that deciding to become a foster carer is a big decision and you may have lots of questions, so we'd like to introduce just a few of our lovely team who are here to support you on your journey to fostering.
Meet Ailish - Fostering Social Worker
"I believe every child should be supported to reach their full potential, and foster carers play an important role in helping children to do so.
Deciding to help vulnerable children who can no longer live at home through no fault of their own is a hugely important life decision. My role is to guide prospective foster carers through that process, where they feel supported each step of the way from their initial enquiry to becoming approved foster carers.
Together, we can make a difference!".
Meet Caroline - Fostering Social Worker
"There is no greater reward than having a positive impact on the life of a child who has experienced adversity. Knowing that is some way I play a part by assessing prospective foster carers will always be fulfilling.
The fostering assessment isn’t just about an exchange of information but it’s a journey and a process where I hope to guide and prepare applicants to be the best foster carers they can be. I’m there every step of the way!
Every child deserves someone who will never give up on them".
Meet 'Fostering Phil' - Foster Carer and fostering promotion
"My name is Phil and I’m never happier than when I’m chatting about fostering.
My family started fostering for Liverpool in 2011, and we have fostered 7 children in total.
We had one little boy who came for 4 just hours, and one is still with us after 8 years.
Since 2015 I’ve worked for Liverpool promoting fostering.
I run regular zooms and drop ins around the city, as well as writing blogs and doing some social media.
I talk about my family’s experiences, the good and the bad, and try to answer any questions I can.
The best part of my job is when someone I have chatted to get approved to foster and starts looking after kids. That gives me a tremendous buzz
I’m only a small part of the journey but it’s great to know I’m making a difference."
Meet Phil - Recruitment Team Manager
"My name is Phil Windsor, and I’m a Team Manager of the Fostering Team.
I started at Liverpool City Council as a Fostering social worker almost six years ago and I have been promoted within the team.
Prior to coming to Liverpool City Council I worked at a number of other local authorities where I worked on Safeguarding and Permanence teams.
I am passionate about recruiting the best people to be foster carers who will look after our most vulnerable children in the City.
My favourite part of the job is supporting my fabulous team of social workers, meeting our prospective foster carers at our events and networking with our partner agencies and stakeholders.
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my friends and family."
